“True courage is pursuing your dreams even when everyone
says it’s impossible”. With this, I would like to wish you all a pleasant
morning. Respected principal sir, vice principals, T.O.D, teachers and all my
friends. Today, I would like to take this opportunity to speak on the key towards achieving the IMPOSSIBLE
When we say impossible, 99% of us tend to think that it is
something that can never be achieved. We
follow the same mentality that has been passed down to us through our
forefathers without bothering to bring a change. The world is developing.
Telephones are being replaced by smart phones while people are being replaced
by intelligent machines. So, I would say that it is high time that we bring a
change to our thoughts. Thinking properly, you would realize that the
impossible has been achieved several times in the past. The things such as
computers and vehicles which we are seeing as normal objects of usage today
must have been considered impossible to be achieved a few centuries back. What
I mean to say through this example is that, things are always considered
impossible until it’s achieved.
The impossible has always been achieved from thinking
outside the box. In short, the way we think matters a lot. To make a
difference, we need to do great things. Problems must be taken as a challenge
that will lead you one step forward towards your goal. Not too long ago, I
remember one of my teachers saying, “I tried my best to confuse you all with my
teaching”. I was surprised as to what he meant by his words. Later, I realized
that he was confusing us so that we could make mistakes and learn through them.
I was fascinated by his thoughts. Likewise, thinking differently or doing
different things doesn’t make you strange or wrong but unique.
Don’t let the noise of other’s opinion drown out your inner
voice. Most importantly, have the courage to follow your heart no matter how
silly or challenging your attempt may seem. Our heart somehow already knows
what we really want to become.
Have
a want, to feel like what you have right now isn't enough. You can always build
something better. One day, there
will be something better and more important than even the smart watch. Don't be
afraid of looking foolish by questioning something that has been commonly accepted
for years. Notions like "that isn't possible" or "no one's ever
done that so we can't" should be something that you carelessly cast to the
wind because that kind of thinking is just an excuse to avoid doing something
great.
So,
to sum up, the key towards achieving the impossible is within you. What is
required is the courage to throw away our thoughts of fear and the heart to
follow our dreams.
