Reading in Rechhung's way..............Thinley Reychung Wangchuk IX E

W
e never know when we fall in love with books. It is the bonding process that makes you closer to it. The bonding process would simply be reading a book and liking it, then reading more books. It happens all the time to any person. It can happen to you. Now, after hearing what I have to say I hope this process takes place in all of you. Never have I thought that books are just pages. For me it is not only the book. It is the author’s thoughts that captivate us and draws us nearer and nearer to it. Books help us break free from the world of now. It takes us to places far and wide. When people read, they do not read for the sake of reading books but for the pleasure they gain from it. Reading habits inculcated in us from a very young age helps us to develop good reading skills. Reading books help us to understand the ways of reading. Our vocabulary, our expressions, our voice modulation are enhanced by ten folds. A person who reads books knows about the world outside Bhutan. The English that is spoken by him is pure as the Buddha’s soul.

Reading helps us all in our day to day life. It is true that books help us improve our reading, but it also helps us improve the basic necessities we need in our life. Books help us to understand ourselves and deal with our everyday problems.Even a paper with letters and words which is thrown on the ground is worth reading. I love reading books. I read books because it helped me relieve my stress and improve my standard in reading.

I read books when I was very young. My mother read me bedtime stories. That was the start of my journey into the world of books. She was my inspiration and motivation. She always asked me to read books from a very
Young age  and she bought books for me to read. I started reading Ladybird books which are short stories about Hansel and Gretel, Cinderella, Jack and the Beanstalk, etc.…. I am here due to the books that I have read. When we read so many books we need to maintain bookshelves. My bookshelf mainly consists of the books that I have read till now. I don’t particularly have choices but that is my strength. The different types of books help me to understand more about the world of books and it introduced me to different styles in which books are written by different authors as they have their own unique way of writing. These different genres of books helped me to improve my reading and speaking skills as they depict different emotions in different manners. Good books are not written by the brain but by the heart. I also ask books as my birthday presents and ask my relatives for books instead for money, clothes, etc… Books are in the very roots of me. Books helped me to reach the position I am in now. Books have helped me in my studies as it improves our English and makes our comprehension strong which in return helps me in my other subjects except for Dzongkha. Reading books improve all bases in language improvement. It also improves our English writing skills. My younger brother did not start reading at the age I did, but right now he is reading books because of me. I have been his inspiration and motivation and I hope I will be with you all too. A book helps us to explore our imaginations and is a door to the soul.   Books helped me understand the world we live in now. Reading can help us reach a stage equal to enlightenment. Books are like flowers in a garden. Even if they wither away another always grows beautifully.

Well, I would like to conclude by saying that we read books to enhance not only our mental strength but also our physical composure. Reading books help all of us in every way possible. So from today I hope you all pick up a book and flip some pages because it is never too late.
